Texan Kurt Grein has spent his twenties in Austin putting in the hard work requisite for carving a niche in the local music scene. Days would have him soft-sell charming you into a pair of kicks at Allen's boots in SoCo, nights were spent collaborating with a variety of musicians and singer-songwriters like himself. Weekend afternoons found him playing for Shiner beer and tips under the oak canopy at Opas , or opening at Poodies Roadhouse in Spicewood, or headlining at The PourHaus in New Braunfels , or in town at The Saxon or the R Bar. No gig, venue, nor town was too small for this dedicated artist. Kurt's laid back, warm, friendly personality endeared him to his fans , and his reverence for fellow musical collaborators and passion for music itself helped him draw many talented artists to jam with him. Kurt has invested years writing, performing, absorbing, experimenting, and honing in on his sound, his style, his message. This latest song "You'll be Back" is the receipt for all those dues paid, and I believe Kurt has found the right alchemy at last that showcases his talent, his smooth vocal tone, his solid stage presence, his musicianship, and his confident, understated outlook on life as he takes on angsty romantic millenials' themes in his alt/folk/country long-legged stride. You can buy his debut album The You Blues on ITunes and catch him on stage in this town he has become part of.
